High employment of 2012 MBA graduates

According to a recent survey 92 per cent of 2012 MBA graduates were employed three months after graduation. The good news comes from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the institution that administers the GMAT entrance exam that most business schools use as one of their selection criteria.

2013 GMAC Alumni Perspectives Survey

GMAC reviews graduating MBA classes at the same time each year in its GMAC’s Alumni Perspectives Survey and reports that employment within the first three months after graduation has risen by six percentage points compared to the class of 2011.

In addition, some 77 per cent of the class of 2012 graduates surveyed said their starting salary met or exceeded their expectations, and 76 per cent said they could not have gotten their job without their graduate management education. Those graduating from full-time two-year MBA programmes had a median salary of 85,000 US dollars, whereas those graduating from full-time one-year MBA programmes had a median salary of 59,000 US dollars. Median starting salaries of 2012 graduates varied most widely by work location (shown in US dollars):

Canada: $ 81,443
Asia Pacific Islands: $ 52,329
Latin America: $ 48,557
Central Asia: $ 27,818
